KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

Kidney transplant is a replacement of non functioning Kidneys with a healthy Kidney. There are two types of donors, living donor and cadaveric donor (a person who dies accidentaly or it is also called brain death). The surgeon who operate the Kidney transplant places a healthy Kidney in your abdomen and joint artery to Kidney for the supply of blood and then joint the Kidney to veins that carries out filtered blood to the body for circulation. The Kidney is also joint from ureter, which carries waste products and excessive water to the bladder in the form of urine. Your own Kidneys will left in place as it is until causing any problem like infections. Usually Kidney transplant is not a complicated or difficult surgery but the period after the surgery is the most critical one. The patient will be under examination for about 6 months to make sure for the transplanted Kidney functions are proper or not.

HEMODIALYSIS

Hemodialysis is a procedure that is substitute for removing waste products such as urea, creatinine, potassium, phosphorus etc. as well as for removing excess water from blood. It is used to artificial replacement for kidneys just like artificial pump for Heart. 1 session of dialysis will take 4 hours to complete. 3 dialysis a week suggested by doctors because Kidneys filter minerals and wastes constantly for 168 hours in a week. Many hospitals seperate room for dialysis or dialysis units where 24 hours dialysis facilities provided with trained technical staff. Dialysis procedure is very painful but it is necessary for life Kidney failure patients but this  is not a permanent solution.Kidney transplant is the best solution for this problem patient can live a normal life.

HOW TO DIAGNOSE KIDNEY FAILURE

HOW TO DIAGNOSE KIDNEY FAILURE

Kidneys function can be tested through routine blood tests.

  1. Creatinine. (Normal range is 0.8-1.3)
  2. Urea. (Normal range is below 50)
  3. Complete Blood Count.
  4. Electrolytes.
  5. Urine Detailed Report. (to measure the amount of protein)
  6. Abdominal Ultrasound. (to check the size of both kidneys)

HOW TO PREVENT FROM KIDNEY DAMAGE:

Chronic disease such as Hypertension(high blood pressure) and Diabetesare destructive. These disease can damage Kidneys, Liver, Heart, Eye sight, or even Brain. So care for life from hypertension and diabetes is necessary for all of us.

SYMPTOMS OF KIDNEY FAILURE

In the beginning, no symptoms will appear. As kidney function decreases, the symptoms will begin to appear,  because of imbalance of electrolytes, stay of waste material in the body, excessive water remains in the body, stop of the production of red blood cells in the body. The symptoms are:

  • Weakness due to low red blood cells count.
  • Laziness
  • Problem in taking breath
  • Increased in acidity of the body
  • Inability to excrete potassium and the excess of potassium level in the body may cause heart failure.
  • rising of urea levels in the blood can affect the function of brain(alteration thinking of patient)
  • Loss of appetite, because of excessive water and waste products remains in blood.
  • Blood pressure may rise because of the excess fluid.(excess fluid can be deposited in lungs and that causes Heart Failure
